Saint Helens’ history dates back to 1845 with it's founding by Cpt. Henry Montgomery Knighton. Prior to the 1850's, Saint Helens was known as Plymouth but later, its breathe-taking scenic views of Mount St. Helens inspired a name change in late 1850's.
